Length Input Format

Enter dimensions in mm, cm, m, inches, feet, fractions, or mixed numbers across LizArk dialogs.

How length inputs work

LizArk draw tool dialogs share the same length parser. You can type values in the unit shown in the field, or append a unit suffix to override it. The parser recognises metric and imperial units, decimal numbers, fractions, and mixed numbers.

Metric units

  • 1200mm or 1200 millimetres
  • 45 cm
  • 2.5 m or 250 cm
  • Decimal values are accepted, e.g. 1234.5mm

Imperial units

  • 6" or 6 inches
  • 4' or 4 feet
  • 4' 6" for mixed feet and inches
  • 5 ft 3 in for explicit mixed values
  • 9'0" for architectural-style heights

Fractions and mixed numbers

  • 3/4" for three-quarters of an inch
  • 5 1/2" for five and a half inches
  • 2' 6 3/4" for two feet, six and three-quarter inches
  • Fractions may include decimal numerators and denominators

Default unit

If you type a bare number without a unit, the dialog uses its default unit. Most architectural fields default to inches, while UPVC fields often default to millimetres. The unit label or toggle next to the field tells you which unit is active.
