What Opening Preview Dimensions does

Opening Preview Dimensions overlays dimension text while you are placing a door or window. It shows the proposed opening width, height, sill height, and offsets from nearby corners or openings so you can verify the position before committing the cut.

Preview workflow

  • Start any LizArk opening tool, such as Draw Door or Draw Window.
  • Hover over a wall face. A cyan wireframe preview appears with dimension labels.
  • Read width, height, and sill directly on screen. Offsets to the nearest corners are shown as leader lines.
  • Click to place, or adjust values in the dialog or VCB until the preview matches your intent.

Controls

Press D to toggle the dimension overlay on or off. Press SHIFT + D to switch between showing all dimensions and only the opening size.

Use the VCB to type exact values while the preview is visible; the overlay updates in real time.

Tips

Preview dimensions respect the current unit setting. Switch to millimetres or inches from the dialog top bar.

The overlay disappears after placement but the values are stored on the generated assembly for scheduling.

Disable the preview on complex models if viewport performance drops.
