What Trace Compound Wall does
Trace Compound Wall drops multi-layer wall markers onto a traced 2D plan. Each marker records the compound wall type and layer configuration. During Generate 3D, LizArk reads the marker and creates the matching multi-leaf wall assembly with the correct total thickness and materials.
Tracing workflow
- Launch the tool and select a compound wall preset or define a custom layer stack.
- Hover over a traced wall pair. The preview shows the total wall thickness aligned to the traced center line.
- Click to place a compound wall marker at the desired location.
- Continue clicking to chain markers along the plan, matching the behavior of Trace Wall.
Compound wall presets
Presets store common assemblies such as brick-cavity-brick, concrete-insulation-finish, and block-plaster. Each preset stores leaf names, thicknesses, and default materials. You can create new presets from the dialog and reuse them across projects.
After tracing
Markers do not create 3D geometry on their own. Run the LizArk Generate workflow to convert compound wall markers into real multi-leaf walls.
Keep markers on the trace_walls layer or tag them with the trace_wall selection role. If a marker loses its role, Generate 3D may skip it.
